Flota, a non-for-profit cultural institution for the organisation and realisation of cultural events, was established at the end of 2001 as an official follow-up to Matjaž Farič’s Eastern Dance Project (1998-1991), the Matjaž Farič Group (1993-1998) and the project Terminal (1999) which Matjaž Farič created as an artist-in-residence at [[Cankarjev dom Culture and Congress Centre]]. Under these organisational forms Matjaž Farič created more than 20 performances, many of them internationally acclaimed. Flota co-operates with the Swedish organisation Intercult - see [http://www.intercult.se http://www.intercult.se] - in the international project SEAS, which unites artists from more than 15 European countries between the Mediterranean and the Baltic Sea. Since 2006 Flota has organised [[Front@ Contemporary Dance Festival, Murska Sobota]].
