The [[International Mountain Film Festival Domžale]] started it's film screenings in [[established::2007]]. Presenting various aspects of mountain culture, it programme encompasses mountain sports (mountaineering, mountain running, B.A.S.E jumping etc), various types of climbing, mountain wildlife, the life of indigenous mountain dwellers and more. It is a collaboration between ''Društvo za gorsko kulturo'' (''Association for mountain culture'') and [[Cankarjev dom, Cultural and Congress Centre|Cankarjev dom]], where most of the festival's happenigs occur (The other location is the [[Franc Bernik Culture House, Domžale|Franc Bernik Culture House]] in Domžale). It has been founded and led since the beginning by the legendary mountaineer [[Silvo Karo]]. In 2010 it became a member of the International Alliance for Mountain Film.

The International Mountain Film Festival Domžale started it's film screenings in 2007. Presenting various aspects of mountain culture, it programme encompasses mountain sports (mountaineering, mountain running, B.A.S.E jumping etc), various types of climbing, mountain wildlife, the life of indigenous mountain dwellers and more. It does not limit itself to films only but also hosts lectures, exhibitions, book presentations and children's programme, all with the aim of enriching the cultural component of how mountains are perceived.


It is a collaboration between Društvo za gorsko kulturo (Association for mountain culture) and Cankarjev dom, where most of the festival's happenigs occur (The other location is the Franc Bernik Culture House in Domžale).
