The Slavic Society of Slovenia is holding a congress entitled Slovenian and Slavic Studies in the Neighbouring Countries, featuring also a talk with Austrian-Slovenian writer Maja Haderlap,
The chief aims of the society are to stimulate scientific research into the Slovenian language and literature, publish scientific treatises, and foregrounds issues arising in the teaching profession. It organises the annual Slavistic Congress, symposia, meetings, lectures of Slovene and foreign scientists, presents awards to the best teachers of Slavic languages, grants subsidies for selected scientific monographs, and issues the following publications: Jezik in slovstvo [Language and Literature], Slavistična revija [Journal for Linguistics and Literary Sciences] and conference proceedings.
