Founded in 1999, the [[SToP Slovene Percussion Project]] is a percussion ensemble whose members aim to unite chamber music with the exploitation of new instruments, new music, new sounds and fun. The members of the group are Davor Plamberger, Barbara Kresnik, Matevž Bajde, Franci Krevh, Dejan Tamše, Tomaž Lojen in Damir Korošec, all young musicians from Maribor, Slovenj Gradec, Ljubljana, Celje and Velenje. Individually they play in the [[Slovene Philharmonic Orchestra]] and the Orchestra of the [[Slovene National Theatre (SNG) Maribor]] and a range of different brass bands and chamber ensembles (eg MD7 Ensemble, Slavko Osterc Ensemble), as well as having solo careers. The SToP repertoire consists of classical music, mostly written in the 20th century. Some compositions have been specially commissioned by SToP. The group presents around 30 concerts each year. SToP has also played with the [[Slovene Philharmonic String Chamber Orchestra]] in Sombor (Croatia), with the percussion group Bing Bang in Zagreb (Croatia) and with [[Slowind Quintet]] in Ljubljana (Slovenia). Several internationally-renowned percussionists and composers, including Evelyn Glennie, Ney Gabriel Rosauro, Igor Lešnik, Nebojša J Živkovič, Manfred Menke and Bernhard Wulff, have previously co-operated with SToP. The group toured Spain, Italy, Austria, Czech Republik, Croatia, Montenegro and South Korea. | Founded in 1999, the [[SToP Slovene Percussion Project]] is a percussion ensemble whose members aim to unite chamber music with the exploitation of new instruments, new music, new sounds and fun.
