From 2002 up to 2004 the Novo mesto Student Association produced the the Novo mesto International Short Film Festival (SNIFF). The third edition of the festival directed by Simon Bizjak got the grant of the EU MEDIA Programme. The competition programme included the section Fronta featuring student films from European film academies, the section Fanatik presenting amateur short film production and the section Filter showing the best-off selection of the French film festival in Clermont Ferrand. The part Fokus showed the selected national short film production and the Digital the computer animation films. Retro probed the short film history and creation. Several film workshops and lectures took place, too.
