The last edition of the Velenje Artists' Colony took place in 2005.
Archival article
The young artists conclude their work in Velenje with an exhibition at the gallery. A jury bestows two prizes: a purchase of one work and a personal exhibition in the following year. Velenje Gallery has thus been enriching its permanent collection of the artworks by Slovene artists with the works from the emerging generation (on display at the Velenje Castle).
On the occasion of the colony's 20th anniversary (2009) the organisers presented this part of the collection at the intriguing exhibition 20 let pozneje [20 years later] by juxtaposing the paintings made during the early colonies with the recent production of former participants such as Zmago Lenardič, Dušan Fišer, Damijan Stepančič, Peter Štrovs and others.
