It organises many events (book readings, presentations, exhibitions, etc.) for children and adults; the events organised in 2008 had 6,739 visitors. In 2010 the library started offering free computer courses.
Brežice Library was established in 1946. In addition to its central space, it has two movable book collections – at Pišece and at the military barracks in Cerklje ob Krki.
