Urbani izziv is freely available to read and use (provided authors and sources are properly cited) through a Creative Commons BY license. Current and past issues are available on the journal's website, and article abstracts are available in relevant bibliographical databases and digital libraries.
Content
Each issue of Urbani izziv consists of two parts: the first, larger part features scientific articles and articles that present methods and techniques. The shorter second part contains reviews and summaries of books, projects, events, conferences, projects, etc.
Prior 2008, each issue was focused on a theme. An issue of the journal published jointly in 1995 with the Faculty of the Built of the Environment University of Central England, Birmingham, dealt with the theme of Housing. Other themes covered in this period include physical planning, water and the city, the innovative city and countryside management.
