Peter Bratuša: background
Peter Bratuša, the founder of Felina Films, was born in Maribor in 1962 and later studied film photography at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb. He has more than 30 years of experience in film and photography. As a director of photography, he participated in the production of several short films and two feature films, Babica gre na jug (Grandma Goes South) (1991) and Oko za oko (Gypsy Eyes) (1992). In addition, he directed TV advertisements and founded the production house Felina Films, which in more than 20 years has recorded over 350 commercials, for which the company has received many acknowledgments: twice they were finalists of the communication and marketing Epica Award, they were recipients of the Golden and Silver Drum awards at the Golden Drum Advertising Festival of New Europe as well as the highest awards at the Croatian Advertising Festival and at the Slovene Advertising Festival (SOF).
Short films
As the main producer, Felina Films has produced several projects with Bratuša as director and screenwriter: the short films 10 Years in 2010, which received the Vesna Award for the best short film at the Festival of Slovenian Film and Two One in 2015; and the feature films, Awakenings in 2017 and the romantic family comedy Gaja's World in 2018. The latter received several awards: the best film in the Teen Arena Programme at the Sarajevo Film Festival 2018, Grand Prize at the Motovun Film Festival 2018 in the international competition of feature films for children and youth. At the Festival of Slovenian Film, it was awarded with a Vesna Award for special achievement.
TV series
In 2013, Peter Bratuša with his Felina Films, in collaboration with other production companies, made the television series in six episodes The Lives of Tomaž Kajzer, for which he signed for the first time as a co-scriptwriter. Felina Films and Bratuša as a director have also created several television cooking shows: Desetka in 2008; Ljubezen skozi želodec between 2009 and 2011; then Zabeljeno po ameriško in 2013; Ana kuha between 2013 and 2014; and Polona ga žge in 2015; all broadcast on the Slovene private commercial channel POP TV.
