Projects
LIC projects include analyses of local legislation and comparative analyses with a view to initiating changes in legislation, thus offering socially-deprived individuals or groups direct legal assistance in the fields of company law, organisation of non-governmental and non-profit-making organisations, human rights, environmental law, social law, consumer protection law, labour law, housing law and other legal fields where protection is called for as well as detection of violations of their rights. LIC also focuses on consciousness-building and the education of its target groups through the organisation of public discussions and other activities. Through the LIC Centre for Mediation, a network of advisers in several cities around Slovenia offer professional conflict management and education on the topic of mediation, both at individual level and at the level of organisations, local communities or state, in all spheres of life – at home, in the workplace and at school.
Membership
LIC is a member of several local and international organisations, including CIVICUS, TRIALOG, the Centre for Information Service, Co-operation and Development of NGOs (CNVOS), CEAVA, VIENNA PLATFORM, the UN Regional Network Eastern Europe and the Union of Associations and Non Governmental Organisations in the Field of Drugs of Slovenia.
