It was named by the Festival Musica Danubiana (MD), later renamed in [[Unicum Contemporary Music Festival]], with the number 7 representing 7 instruments: flute, clarinet, trombone, viola, violoncello, keyboard and percussion. The majority of the ensemble's repertoire consists of new works which have been written especially for this unique instrumental combination by many distinguished home and foreign composers (L. Lebič, I. Petrić, G. Coral, S. Lerescu, A. Laporte, J.-L. Darbelley, J. Golob). The ensemble performs in Slovenia and also abroad (Vienna, Trieste, Bucharest, Dublin, Seoul). Its artistic leader is composer Pavel Mihelčič and its conductor Steven Loy. They have recorded 7 CDs. |
