Work
Elastik develops personalised spaces for daily use, composed of material and non-material components within customised "critical geometry". Elastik was responsible for the architectural design of the new Hotel Bellevue Amsterdam, the Wellness Park Laško, and the interior of both Lara Bohinc jewellery stores in London, among others.
Elastik has also presented its work at several exhibitions, including Architekturbox in Hamburg and ARCAM in Amsterdam. The studio itself also initiated and conceived the exhibition Half a Century in the History of a Chair – Rex at the Museum of Modern Art in October 2004, and has set up numerous fashion design displays, for example, handbags by Meta Grošelj and jewellery by Lara Bohinc at the London Fashion Week. In collaboration with Mateja Medvedič they conceived the Month of Design event scenography.
Elastik was presented in a Phaidon's 10x10_2, the second in a series of comprehensive overviews of contemporary architecture, which presented the work of 100 international architects.
Awards
Elastik Achitecture has won several awards, including two awards for invited competitions in China, both in collaboration with Buro II (2005). Of the most recent is the award at the competition for the stand at the Provada 2010 fair in Amsterdam. Elastik's collaboration with MAT studio resulted in the winning project Open Frame for the Open Fort 400 competition (2009), an honourable mention at the Europan 10 competition for a SoundGarden project in Maastricht (2010), and the award of The Design Association of Japan for KT: the listening room, showcased at the 100% Design Tokyo in 2008.
