Awards
The European Prize for Urban Public Space, a biennial competition organized by seven European institutions, was awarderd to ATELIERarhitekti in 2012 for the Renovation of the banks of the River Ljubljanica, a joint project that includes also the works of Boris Podrecca, BB arhitekti, Atelje Vozlič, DANS Arhitekti, Trije arhitekti, Medprostor arhitekti, and Urbi.
In 2012 Jurij Kobe and Rok Žnidaršič received the Plečnik Award for the reconstructed former Minorite convent, now a home to the Maribor Puppet Theatre.
Background
Among running the ATELIERarhitekti studio, Jurij Kobe is also a professor at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Ljubljana. His early works include several renovations, among them also the Cekin castle where National Museum of Contemporary History is placed, and many schools.
