OLD MATERIAL: Galerija Gregor Podnar was established in June 2003 in Kranj as part of the DUM Association of Artists. Gregor Podnar, who had overseen the ŠKUC Gallery in Ljubljana, aims to run a production centre that collaborates with different commercial and non-commercial galleries and institutions in Europe and abroad.
In March 2004 gallery premises were opened at Savska 34 in Kranj with the inaugural exhibition Venture, featuring work by selected artists of the gallery. In 2006 the gallery moved to Ljubljana, with Venture II being featured in the new exhibition space at Kolodvorska 6 in Ljubljana, 100 metres from Ljubljana Railway Station. In 2007 Gregor Podnar opened a new venue in Berlin.
The gallery presents internationally well-known and established artists mostly from Eastern European centres, as well as young emerging artists from a wider context. These include Attila Csörgő, Irwin, Vadim Fiškin, Alexander Gutke, Magnus Larsson, Yuri Leiderman, Kazimir Malevič 1985, Dan Perjovschi, Goran Petercol, Tadej Pogačar, Marjetica Potrč, Tobias Putrih, Guia Rigvava and Nika Špan.
The Gallery has participated at Liste, The Young Art Fair in Basel, Art Forum Berlin, Artissima Turin, Viennafair, Art Brussels, and Arte Fiera-Bologna Fiere.
