The Golden Reel Award is a public award bestowed each year at the Ljubljana International Film Festival (LIFFe) on a selected film within the ‘Horizons' section, which presents new creations by acclaimed directors. A professional jury decides which film gets the highest average mark and audiences then vote with ballots from one to five. The Golden Reel Award winner is then purchased for distribution to Slovene cinemas.

Launched in 2001 by the Association of Slovene Film Workers, the Golden Roll Award honours a Slovene film or film in Slovene co-production which has been seen at Slovene cinema theatres by audiences of more than 25,000 people.

See also the Kingfisher Award, the LIFFe-FIPRESCI Award and the LIFFe Amnesty International Award.
