The predecessor of Radio Koper was established in 1949 as Radio of Yugoslav zone of Trieste. Originally it was broadcasted in Slovene, Croatian and Italian. After 1954 it became a part of Radio Ljubljana (today's Radio Slovenia) and transmission was broadcasted in Italian and Slovene only. The Radio has studios in Koper and Nova Gorica, it also regularly collaborates with Slovene radio stations and stations from Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Croatia and Australia. Radio Koper-Capodistria is also transmitted via the website.
Arts and culture programming
Besides international news and news from Slovene political, economic, social and cultural life, the station focuses on minority community events and news. It features a radio show The Cultural News [Iz kulturnega sveta] which focuses on the current cultural events, artists and happenings from the Primorska and border region, including the news from cultural capitals of Europe. The show Musical Season Ticket [Glasbeni abonma] focuses on concert broadcast, mainly focused on classical music and composers, artists and performers from Primorska region, including the towns Trieste, Gorizia, Udine.
