The choir, with its characteristic sound, is the ideal ensemble for different repertoires, from a cappella music of all genres to vocal-instrumental projects such as Musica Inaudita – music written from the 9th to 17th century by female nun composers, or Veneziani Ospedali – music written for performance by orchestras and choirs of young girls in Venetian charitable institutions from 1500–1800.
Carmina Slovenica's most recent stage productions include Toxic Psalms, Perspective East, Scivias, Vampirabile, Slovene Sounds, Adiemus, and From Immemorial Times. All of these award-winning productions were performed at many international festivals and broadcast by EBU and Eurovision.
Carmina Slovenica received the Prešeren Award and many of the highest awards at international choral competitions. The choir has also produced 15 CDs and some DVDs, which can be ordered from the choir's site or purchased in other bookshops in Slovenia and abroad.
Carmina Slovenica performs frequently at Cankarjev dom Culture and Congress Centre in Ljubljana and has performed on concert stages worldwide, including the San Francisco Symphony Hall, the Teresa Carrero Theatre in Caracas, the Hong Kong Cultural Centre and the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires.
In addition, the choir has presented its programmes at important international music festivals such as the World Music Days (organised by the International Society for Contemporary Music (ISCM)), the World Symposium on Choral Music (organised by the International Federation for Choral Music (IFCM)), the Eastern Festival in Moscow, Dresdner Musikfestspiele, the European Symposium on Choral Music (also organised by IFCM), Polyfollia, America Cantat, the Choir Olympics, Europa Cantat, European Forum of Youth Choirs, and the Prototype Festival in New York.
