LUKS Studio
About
The studio is a laboratory for graphic design, specialised in information graphics, logotypes, and corporate identity. Since it was founded in 1995 by Boris Balant and Lena Pislak, it has attained international reputation, exhibiting also in Milano at the Istituto Europeo di Design, and at the ART Directors Club Gallery in New York. One of the leading Slovene design studios, today it is managed by Lena Pislak and Primož Pislak. Boris Balant is now creating under the brand name Human1st, and Simon Pavlič joined the LUKS Studio team.
Projects
The LUKS Studio opus includes logotypes (including those of Mobitel, Piranske soline, Vertigo Bird, Racman, Škuc Gallery, Fronta Festival, and the Slovene Space Agency, as well as the new logo for the promotion of tourism in Slovenia), books, magazines (Ars Vivendi, Adria Airways In-Flight Magazine), exhibition catalogues, annual reports, posters, websites, and packaging (Solnce salt). The company has set up various exhibitions, in 2009 also the exhibition for the International Design Event.
Awards
Work of LUKS Studio has received numerous awards, among them also the Grand Award at the Slovene Advertising Festival (SOF) (2009), the Trend Award for visual communications (2008), and numerous Brumen Awards (2003, 2007, 2009). In 2003 the famous Graphis, International Journal of Visual Communication ranked the LUKS Studio among the world's best designers.
