The Maechtig-Vrhunc Arhitekti studio was founded in Ljubljana in 1995 by partners Tomaž Maechtig and Urša Vrhunc. The studio's approach to architecture and design projects highlights experimentation and sustainability. The studio is active in urban planning, architecture, and design.
Noteworthy building projects include the Celje Chalet, the Riko prefabricated wood panel single-family building in Palm Springs, the Edelweiss Houses in Stožice, the EuroCity complex in Šiška, and the Mostec Apartments (the last three all located in Ljubljana). The studio's interior design projects include the Gigodesign office studio, located in an abandoned industrial loft in Ljubljana, and the interior of their own office space, which won the Interior of the Year Award in 2004. The studio also designed the OblikaObleka fashion exhibition organised by OLoOP Design and movable information booths for Telekom Slovenije.
