The Goriška Museum Library was established in 1954 as the Goriška Museum book collection. This is an example of a highly specialised library with an important collection of exhibition catalogues, museology and museum publications, a large collection of Slovene and international professional periodical publications, and a collection of minority periodical publications concerning the Goriška region. Audiovisual records are kept at the department of audiovisual documentation and presentation of intangible cultural heritage. International lending is conducted via the National and University Library (NUK) in Ljubljana.
