State-funded scholarships
The Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Affairs offers scholarships of different amounts to candidates coming from socially and financially deprived family background.
Every year in June the Ministry publishes an open call to grant state-funded scholarships, although the candidates applying for the first time can send the application throughout the whole year. The application and the selection is carried out under the proper Centre for Social Work.
Eligibility
The Slovene citizens, the members of Slovene diaspora, the European Union citizens, the citizens of European Economic Area (EEA) and the citizen of third-world countries with temporary or permanent residence permit are eligible to apply. The age limit of candidates is 26 years for students and 18 for secondary school pupils.
The scholarships are granted for all fields of study offered by Slovene universities and high schools. Priority is given to citizens of countries with bilateral agreements or countries with which direct reciprocal exchange of government scholarships exists, and to applicants who have already established contacts with Slovene university institutions or departments that are willing to accept them for the proposed term.
