The MKC Slovenj Gradec was established in 2004 by the Slovenj Gradec Urban Municipality. The centre is a venue for youth culture with a programme which covers various arts disciplines, educational activities and entertainment as well as international co-operation (European voluntary service, youth exchange, etc). The centre offers a range of youth club activities: concerts, music productions, festivals, exhibitions, literary meetings, and workshops (music, rhetorics, etc).
In 2011, the centre moved to new premises. They also host a youth hostel that is run under the auspices of the Youth Centre. Additionally, there are two conference halls, one able to host about 250 people and the other, 60 people.

Background
Within the framework of M3C Multimedia Centres Network of Slovenia, MKC Slovenj Gradec launched the Koroška Multimedia Centre (MMC Koroška) in 2006 in order to promote new media culture in the Carinthia region.
