Established in 1989, the [[European Young Organists Competition]] takes place every three years within the framework of the [[European Union of Music Competitions for Youth (EMCY)]] and up to 2004 had featured 95 musicians from 20 European countries. Since 1992 it has been organised at [[Cankarjev dom Culture and Congress Centre]] in Ljubljana by the [[Commission for Music and Ballet Competitions (TEMSIG)]], also a member of EMCY. Musicians compete in two age groups - up to 19 and 25. In 2007 the 7th competition took place. The prizes went to young musicians from Germany, Slovenia, Russia, Denmark and the Czech Republic. The deadline is usually at the end May.
