Produced by P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E. Institute, the Sound Explicit Festival is an annually held series of performances that, in one way or another, challenge the conventional treatment of sound as music and art. First held in 2003, since then the festival has presented a diverse set of artistic expressions, from acoustic improvisation to experimental sound processing and multi-modal composition. The latter incorporated moving pictures, radio signals, painting, and even the human body itself.

Between 2003 and 2009, the festival was held in the P74 Centre and Gallery, with only a small part of the programme also presented in the Kapsula Gallery. After a one year hiatus, the festival continued its course in 2011 on a changed location, moving to the Jakopič Gallery.

Programme
