A national stand presenting Slovene jazz music, organised by SIGIC, Slovene Music Information Centre, in addition to stands organised by Cankarjev dom, Druga godba Ljubljana, and Jazz Cerkno Festival
at the jazzahead! Festival and Trade Fair
Activities
In addition to organising the festival, the institute also runs the Sogodbe series of concerts throughout the year; these are generally smaller in scale than the festival concerts, but share the latter's enthusiasm for artists who push boundaries within a specific local, national or continental music tradition. Highlights in the 2010s included new sevdah artists Damir Imamović and Jusuf Brkić, Canadian Inuk throat singer Tanja Tagaq, South-Korean post-rockers Jambinai, and the Mexico-based Slovenian poet-musician Katja Šulc.
International activities
Druga Godba is involved in two major international collaborative projects. The first, which ran for two years from 2018, was Jazz Connective, a partnership between seven European cultural organisations aimed at tackling emerging challenges within the field of jazz and other innovative music. Following on from that initiative, Footprints plans to provide education, training and mentoring programmes for artists, agents and promoters. In addition to Druga Godba, the project involves three European cultural organisations: Oslo Jazz Festival, the Bimhuis cultural centre in Amsterdam and Music Austria from Vienna. Like Jazz Connective, it is co-funded by the EU's Creative Europe programme.
DruGod
The institute also runs a record label, DruGod, which has released recordings from the festival, as well as albums by Brina, Bossa de Novo and the Kaja Draksler Acropolis Quartet.
