The Faculty of Design organises a number of workshops, guest lectures of professors from foreign partner institutions as well as student and staff exchange.
 
  
The faculty has participated since 2006 in the European ''Lifelong Learning Programme'' within the Erasmus programme and collaborates with partner institutions from Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, and the United Kingdom. In line with the Erasmus University Charter, up 12 students of the Faculty of Design have studied abroad, while prior to 2010, 8 students had done their training programme in different EU countries. In addition, 12 members of Ljubljana teaching staff have taught abroad and 5 administrative employees have received additional training at foreign partner institutions.

The Faculty of Design was established in 2005 in Ljubljana as a private independent institution of higher education. Since 2011, it has been an associated member of the University of Primorska.
