The [[Museum of Underwater Activities Piran]] was founded by the Maritime Heritage Preservation Institute in [[established::2006]]. Its rich collection is focused on the historical technical equipment such as diving apparatuses, diving suits and helmets as well as military uniforms ans insignias. As the technical innovation, development and training of underwater diving derived mostly from the military activities, the museum's artefacts and archives cover all the navies that were active at the Adriatic Sea from 1909 to the present day.
