The Web Museum is designed as a repository for the storage of digital audiovisual contemporary art and time-based art and an online access to AV materials. It comprises material recorded on video carriers (performances, dance, multimedia works) and documents from exhibitions, lectures, seminars, festivals and conferences. It was established in 2014 in Moderna galerija (Museum of Modern Art) as an intersection of digitised AV documents of contemporary art practices and discursive programmes.

Collaboration with independent producers

Since the beginning the project has included the repository service to important independent contemporary art producers and publishers. So far the City of Women Association for Promotion of Women in Culture, KUD Mreža Arts and Culture Association, Maska Institute, and Kapelica Gallery that have shaped the Slovenian contemporary art field for over three decades, have been invited to contribute. In addition the arhive of choreographer and contemporary dance activist Ksenija Hribar (1938–1999) from the Rok Vevar's private Temporary Slovene Dance Archive was included in the testing phase.
