Background
The festival was initiated by the questioning of the position of women in an inseparable intertwining of art, culture, politics, activism, and everyday life. Organizers who were active at Metelkova mesto noticed that, like elsewhere, regardless of the autonomy of the space and its rebellious character claiming to be different from the rest of society, the working force that was keeping Metelkova alive and lively were women.
