Background
Mitja Miklavčič, born 1978, is a graphic and typeface designer. After working a few years for advertising agencies and design studios in Slovenia, he moved to the UK where he studied MA in Typeface Design at the University of Reading. In 2006 he completed the course with distinction. In 2007 he received the TDC Certificate of Excellence in Type Design. Mitja then established his own studio, specialised in typeface design, information architecture, branding and editorial design; among others he collaborated with well-known type foundries in the United States and Europe.
Work
The typeface based on his master's degree was later fine-tuned and published by FontShop Int. It soon became one of the most popular fonts, particularly in digital media, such as websites and mobile phones.
