Platform as a space for artists
Contemporary Dance Platform is engaged in finding new forms of dialogue and different approaches to dance in Slovenia and internationally by showing works of already established as well as younger artists. It translates local insights to the wider state of affairs in Slovenia, aims to find what connects the national dance scene, and tries to reflect on the obstacles that stand in the way of the development of contemporary dance.
Platform regularly organises festival workshops and artists' laboratories by guest choreographers and dancers aimed at dissemination of new perspectives, ways, and approaches to making dance.
Platform was part of the Maribor, European Capital of Culture 2012 and has closely cooperated with EU Culture supported Modul-Dance, a multi-annual cooperation project (2010-2014) with the participation of 20 dancehouses from 16 European countries.
