International cooperation
DSAF regularly and very successfully participated in projects funded by the Creative Europe programme 2014–2020. In fact, their total amount of grants awarded by the EU as project leader put them in first place among Slovenian media organisations.
The two most international important endeavours of the association have thus become the CEE Animation Worksop and the CEE Animation Forum, with partners from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary. Usually held annually in the Czech Republic alongside the Anifim International Animated Film Festival, the CEE Animation Forum has become the leading regional pitching, financing and co-production event focusing on the animation industry and brings together industry experts from 20 countries in Central and Eastern Europe.
Developing the field
In an effort to encourage development among artists in the field, the DSAF also bestows annual awards to professionals and students. Winners are announced on its website and the winning animated films are screened in a special event.
