The International Center for Puppetry Arts Koper (also called MCLU for the Mednarodni center lutkovne umetnosti Koper) was established in 2005 when the activities of the "Lutkarnica Puppetry Studio" at Mladinska 6 in Koper-Capodistria were expanded. The founder was Maja Bavdaž Gross who has been active in puppetry for more than three decades and also co-founded the Papilu Puppet Theatre.

The centre produces performances by Nika Solce and the puppet theatre Teatro matita as well as co-organises the PUF Festival and Floating Castle Festival.

At the Lutkarnica Studio the MCLU produces various performances, organises workshops for small and school-aged children, and holds seminars for teachers.
