In [[established::2009]] the first [[Slovenia Press Photo Festival]] (SPP) took place in [[National Gallery of Slovenia]] (in 2010 it moved to [[Cankarjev dom Culture and Congress Centre]]). In 2009 the first Slovenia Press Photo Festival (SPP) took place in the National Gallery of Slovenia (in 2010 it moved to Cankarjev dom Culture and Congress Centre). This competitive festival was established by the SPP Institute for Promotion of Photography in order to promote press and documentary photography in Slovenia. With winners selected by an international jury of prominent experts (Christopher Morris, Adriana Zehbrauskas, Murad Sezer, Oded Balilty, and Heidi Levine in 2010), the national level competition concludes with an exhibition of the awarded works.
