The origins of [[Kosovel Library, Sežana|Kosovel Library]] may be traced back to the establishment of a Readers’ Association in 1852. Now one of 60 public libraries in Slovenia, it has changed its name and location numerous times, acquiring its current name (after the poet [[Srečko Kosovel]]) and autonomous status in [[established::1962]]. Over the years it has developed a network of three branch libraries, Divača, Hrpelje and Komen, which are open two days a week. Since 1995 the library stock has been searchable via the [[COBISS - Slovene Virtual Library]] system.
