The now widely-acclaimed [[Trnovo Tercets]] is the biggest international poetry gathering in Ljubljana. The beginnings of the festival reach back to [[established::1994]], when [[KUD France Prešeren Arts and Culture Association|KUD France Prešeren]] first organised the event in collaboration with the [[Slovene Writers’ Association]]. The most renowned Slovene poets spanning several generations have given readings of their poetry at Tercets, including [[Tone Pavček]], [[Tomaž Šalamun]], [[Milan Dekleva]], and [[Uroš Zupan]]. Since 2000 the event has also featured prominent poets from abroad: Martin Lopez Vega (Spain), Ciaran O'Driscoll (Ireland), and Pavel Zajíček (the Czech Republic) to name a few. To date, more than 160 poets have presented their works. Readings are held on three consecutive nights, each of which features three Slovene or foreign poets (around 45 minutes each).
