Background
Mat'kurja portal was developed at the Jožef Stefan Institute and launched on 23 November 1993. Its creators to be mentioned are Boris Čibej, Mišo Alkalaj, Vuk Čosić and Tomaž Lavrič as well as young developers. Its initial name Slowwwenia was changed Mat'kurja in March 1997.
Today Mat'kurja is a public domain database, UPC Telemach, Slovenia's leading broadband operator, being its project leader, while Literal Information Technologies is in charge of its development ( web architecture) and Luna\TBWA creates its graphic design.
