Published since 1992, Piranesi is one of the oldest architectural magazines in central Europe, plunging along with the Piran Days of Architecture and the Piranesi Award into every important European architectural debate. Like the Piran Days, at which the Alpe-Adriatic Architectural Exhibition is presented and the Piranesi Awards are bestowed, Piranesi was also initiated and developed by its editor-in-chief, the Slovene architect Vojteh Ravnikar (1943–2010).

The visual identity of the magazine was made by Ranko Novak from the DesigNovak, all current issues are designed by Domen Fras from the design studio Aparat.

Content

Each issue incorporates a thematic block covering important architectural events in central Europe, along with news and information about international architectural seminars and workshops. Comprehensive insight is given into individual opuses through vivid interviews and photographic vision. A historical section is dedicated to state-of-the-art architecture of the first decades of the 20th century.

Piranesi magazine is also distributed throughout Europe as well as in America, Australia and Japan. Articles are published in both original language and Slovenian translation.
