As a company, Perfo Production was formally established in 2005. As a brand, Perfo goes back a tad longer, dating back to 1996. Nowadays, it creates television ads and produces television series and movies. In the field of the latter, they have been especially active since about 2010, and have managed to get a number of their productions onto the international festival circuit. Perfo is led by Aleš Pavlin and Andrej Štritof, both of whom have been active in audiovisual production for more than 15 years.

    Feature film production

From the start, Perfo's movie output has been rather prolific. Their first feature film was Izlet [The Trip] (2011), which has been screened at a number of festivals worldwide (Sao Paulo, Palm Springs, Warsaw, Hamburg, Sarajevo). It received excellent reviews in Variety and Screen International, and was also heavily awarded, gathering wins at the Cleveland International Film Festival, the Nashville Film Festival, and the Festival of Slovenian Film in Portorož, where it won 5 Vesna awards, including the one for best music that was composed by Urša Golob and Rok Pezdirc (New Wave Syria). Izlet was written and directed by Nejc Gazvoda, who collaborated again with Perfo on his next movie.

In 2013 the Gazvoda's second feature Dual, a Slovenian-Danish-Croatian co-production, was completed. It premièred at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival and was nominated for the East of West award.

Following these two films, Perfo has produced a number of other movies and documentaries, co-producing some of them with Intermedianetwork and Gargantua from Serbia and Artdeluxe from Austria. With them, they've produced the movie on World War I titled The Woods are Still Green, which was directed by one of the more successful Slovene directors, Marko Naberšnik. The 2015 Slovenian-Czech-Macedonian co-production Šiška Deluxe, directed by one of the best scenarists and film directors in Slovenia Jan Cvitkovič, was screened at the Film Market of the Cannes Film Festival 2015. In 2017 Irena Kovačevič won the Best Actress Award at the the Montreal World Film Festival for her performance in Cvitkovič's latest feature film Družinica [Basics of Killing], co-produced by Perfo.

    Television production

Perfo's television productions have also achieved success. They received the Viktor Award in 2012 for the internationally acclaimed series Na terapiji [On therapy]. Having more than 100 television ads under their belt, it is no wonder that Perfo was chosen at the Slovene Advertising Festival (SOF) 2012 as the best production house for TV ads. One of their ads has also been awarded at the marketing festival WoW Done Awards in Kyiv.
