The Ipavec composers left their mark on the Slovene music of the 19th and 20th century. Gustav Ipavec in mostly known for his national songs such as Slovenec sem, Domovini, Vse mine. His brother Benjamin Ipavec wrote the first Slovene opera Teharski plemiči. Josip Ipavec is the author of the first Slovene ballet, the pantomime Možiček (1901), as well as the operetta Princesa Vrtoglavka (1910).
