The last edition of the Slovenia Press Photo Festival took place in June 2017. See below the archival article.



Archival article

In 2009 the first Slovenia Press Photo Festival (SPP) took place in the National Gallery of Slovenia. In 2010 it moved to Cankarjev dom, Cultural and Congress Centre and the 2013 edition takes place in Museum of Architecture and Design. This competitive festival was established by the SPP Institute for Promotion of Photography in order to promote press and documentary photography in Slovenia.

With winners selected by an international jury, the national level competition concludes with an exhibition of the awarded works. It is accompanied by an overview exhibition of a renowned international press agency (in 2009 the Associated Press, in 2010 Sipa Press with the works by Göksin Sipahioglu, its founder, in 2011 the Agence France-Presse (AFP)), thematic exhibition (War VII by VII Photo Agency) or solo presentations (Paolo Pellegrin, Magnum Photos), lectures and courses.
