The Večernica Award is an award given to best new literary work for young readers published by a Slovenian publishing house or author in the previous year. It has been presented each year since 1997 by the Večer Newspaper Publishing Company, traditionally at the Eye of the Word Festival in Murska Sobota in autumn.


The most recent winners are: Peter Svetina for Kako zorijo ježevci, Vladimir P. Štefanec for Sem punk čarovnica, Debela lezbijka in ne maram vampov, Vinko Möderndorfer for Kot v filmu in 2013, Peter Svetina for Ropotarna in 2012, Dim Zupan for Hektor in zlata hruška in 2011, and Mate Dolenc for Maščevanje male ostrige in 2010.
