The Golden Bird Award was presented for the first time in 1975. Since 1994 it has been granted by the Liberal Academy, Association for Political Democracy and Liberalism Research. The Executive Board of the Liberal Academy elects five members of the Golden Bird Committee, and every Spring this Board bestows up to five awards for recent achievements in different artistic disciplines by new and promising authors, individuals or groups, with a focus on an innovative approach.
