Buča Bookselling and Publishing (buča in English means: pumpkin, in slang also "head", which can be smart, hard, empty, bright ...) is a leading publishing marketing company.
Launched in 1998 by Samo Vadnov who started to sell books in 1976 and quickly realised the need of publishers for book marketing facilitated by book lovers with experience and enthusiasm.
Today Buča represents several publishing houses that specialise in social sciences and humanities books (such as Založba /*cf), galleries, museums and training and research institutions (such as Peace Institute), a computer publishing house, as well as some small publishers and individuals. Online book sales are also offered. Recently Buča started to publish its own books, mostly picture books for children by Slovene authors (Andrej Rozman Roza, Matjaž Pikalo).
