Organised by the Association of the Friends of Moderate Progress and the MKC Koper Youth and Culture Centre since 2005, the Koperground Festival in Koper-Capodistria is a festival of independent and engaged international film, literature, performance, and music. Up to 2014 it took place in the M&KC club and the garden of the Koper Regional Museum as well as various other locations around the city. After the M&KC club was taken over by the local authorities, in 2015 the organisers searches for the new venues.

The dense programme is accompanied by unorthodox workshops. In 2010 Marko A. Kovačič coached a workshop on "Soft Terrorism" and the Serbian artist Wostok held a workshop on comics.
