Launched in 1997 by the Association of Slovene Photographers, the Slovene photographers’ magazine Fotografija is published two times annually. Each number is a double issue and it features various themes offered to its readers within up to 12 chapters of different genres from the interview, exhibition and books reviews through theory and essay to short story that covers different kind of photography as fashion, digital, documentary, journalism photography. It featueres also topics about the Slovene photography and the history of photography. It also provides information about photography trainings or copyright issues. Contributors are more and less known Slovene photography professionals such as Matjaž Brulc, Miha Colner, Meta Krese, Vasja Nagy, Polona Tratnik, Nejc Gazvoda, and Dejan Habicht to name just a few.

Fotografija magazine organises various competitions and showcases photographic clubs around Slovenia. In May 2010, the magazine produced a series of free public discussions about the wider issues on the field of photography called Photography on a Sofa. Eleven talks between two experts from various fields took place from 7 to 17 May at Kino Šiška Centre for Urban Culture, including such events as Jože Vogrinc and Jure Eržen speaking about "War and media", Rajko Bizjak and Teo Rižnar on the theme of "Optics, chemistry and electronics", Urša Chitrakar and Željko Stevanić discussing "Copyright and photography", and Lev Kreft and Vuk Ćosić adressing "New media".
