The Metod Badjura Award for lifetime achievement, launched in 1995 by the Association of Slovene Film Workers, is the most important Slovene film award. It is bestowed annually on a selected Slovene film maker at the Festival of Slovenian Film. The award is named after a Slovene film director and cinematographer who began producing professional documentaries during the 1930s.


Up to 2010 the Badjura Award has been awarded to Jože Babič, Mirjana Borčić, Vojko Duletič, Jože Gale, Boštjan Hladnik, Jane Kavčič, Matjaž Klopčič, Milan Ljubić, Ivan Marinček, Berta Meglič, Rudi Omota, Jože Pogačnik, Dušan Povh, Filip Robar Dorin, Mako Sajko, Rudi Vaupotič and Peter Zobec.
