Beno Zupančič Library Postojna is one of the Notranjska region's main cultural, educational and free time activity centres. It has branches in Pivka and Prestranek. Originally established in 1905 as the People's Library, this institution was known from 1957 as the City Library before it acquired its current name in 1981.

Owned by SCCA-Ljubljana Centre for Contemporary Arts and housed in the SCCA-Ljubljana Centre for Contemporary Arts Project Room, the SCCA-Ljubljana Centre for Contemporary Arts Library is a collection of Slovene and international books, catalogues and periodicals on contemporary art, art theory and topics of curatorial practices. It gives special attention to new media and video art. The library holds a lot of publications from the regions of Central and Eastern Europe as well as Asia. The library also incorporates a videotheque, based in the SCCA-Ljubljana's Videodokument documentation project. The titles of the library collection are also available online. It is also possible to borrow material to work at home.
