Programme and main events
Events organised by the centre delve in various fields and themes, and are held throughout the year at different venues in Ljubljana. In celebration of Kiš's birthday, the first international conference on Danilo Kiš and World Literature was held at Visconti Fine Art Gallery on 22 February 2010.
The Serbian Cultural Centre Danilo Kiš collaborates with the research institution Institutum Studiorum Humanitatis (ISH) in hosting a series of events under the title Open Humanities. In November 2010 the lecture "History and the Writer" was held at the institute, followed by a talk with Radoslav Petković, moderated by Svetlana Slapšak. The centre also organised a literary event with public readings and guests Dubravka Ugrešić and Nenad Veličković at Mini Theatre in Ljubljana in June 2011.
The centre's website construction was supported by the Serbian Ministry of Culture; the organisation is otherwise funded through donations.
