Projects
MultiPlan Architects' recent projects include the Rowing Centre at Bled (2010) and the Katarina House, a sumptuous residential project located in the wooded hills at Topol outside Ljubljana (2013). The Balcony Apartments, an apartment complex in Ljubljana (2014), challenged the studio to bring their appreciation for the quality of life as a key project metric to urban social housing. The second iteration of the Balcony Apartments, completed in 2016, received the Golden Pencil Award in 2016 and was nominated for the prestigious Mies Van Der Rohe Award.
Background
Aleš Žnidaršič obtained a BA from the Faculty of Architecture, University of Ljubljana in 1997 and subsequently acquired working practice at the Christos Papoulias' architectural firm in Athens and with Yves Lion in Paris. From 1999 to 2002, he was an assistant lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Ljubljana. Since 2002, he has worked as a project engineer with a state certification in engineering. Katja Žlajpah acquired her BA at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Ljubljana, in 1998, and is active as a freelance creator in the field of culture.
